I decided to take up painting seriously to make my childhood hobby more meaningful. Well, I have participated in the Chitrasanthe four times and propose to hold exhibitions of my paintings. My interest lies in painting portraits and figurative works in oil and water colour.” Komal Parmar completed her BFA (painting) from Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai in the year 2003. She has developed into a versatile painter working in acrylics and oils in her own unique style. Her art work reflects an interest in expressing herself through colour. Komal’s paintings are expressionistic with a palette of bright colours that absorb and compliment the geometrical lines she etches onto the canvas. Her paintings have a freshness and spontaneity to them which are an extension of her personality. Her constant endeavour is always to produce images of colouristic richness which have a visually aesthetic appeal to them. Minimalistic work is a striking characteristic of her work .Komal has also done experimental works like using sequins on the canvas. These mixed medium works are a blend of the fashion and art. The talented artist’s work will be on display at the gallery till June 23.Each and every artist has tried to tell their story through art. Come be a part of this journey at Renaissance Art Gallery
