Only 8,000 passed in first K-TET

As many as 8,000 candidates have passed in the first Kerala-Teachers Eligibility Test (K-TET) conducted by the Education Department. In the LP (category I), out of the total 43,561 candidates who registered, 3,956 passed making the pass percentage 9.48. In the UP (category II), the pass percentage is 4.19 and in the high school (category III) it is 3.17 percent.

 In the UP category, 58,375 candidates had appeared out of which 2447 passed and in the high school category, out of the 50,662 who attempted the exam, 1607 passed. The results have been uploaded by the Pareekshabhavan in the website www.results.itschool.gov.in.

 The Exam Board has decided to award the toppers, who bagged 80 percent above in the first K-TET, with a cash prize of Rs 20,000. This will be awarded to Jithinjith P A (Wayanad), Ann Mary Joy (Kottayam) and Minu G S (Thiruvananthapuram). The candidates will now have to submit their original documents in the office of the Educational officers in their respective districts for verification to ensure eligibility.
