Opposition gheraoes Chairman for drinking water

MARADU:  Opposition counsellors of Maradu Municipality headed by P K Raju, Friday gheraoed the Maradu Municipal Chairman T K Devararajan, demanding the basic amenities for the people.“The protest is for drinking water and street light”, said the Opposition leader. The opposition counsellors gheraoed the chairman at the Municipal Office from 10.00 am onwards.When the situation turned volatile Panangadu Police reached the spot and controlled the mob.In a bilateral talk held in the presence of Municipal Chairman and Opposition leader, the ruling coilation, UDF, assured an early settlement of the problems related to drinking water and street light in the municipal areas,close to the city.
