Private glow for roads, junctions

MYSORE: With an overwhelming response from shops, establishments and industrialists for illuminating the city, the Dasara sub-committee has come out with new plans to illuminate 24 major roads and traffic junctions in the city.The committee will erect the illuminated structures of Tippu Sultan fighting a tiger, Gandabherunda — a double-headed mythological bird of great prowess — wild animals, waterfalls and Nandi in all the seven entrances of the city. Merchants are preparing to illuminate the Devaraja Urs Road on the lines of the Commercial Street in Bangalore for the new year celebration. Establishments such as Automotive Axel, Mysore Dairy, Apollo Hospital, Vikram Hospital, M K Agrotech, Hotel J P Palace, Sonu Motors and State Bank of Mysore to name a few have come forwarded to illuminate areas of the city.
