Private godown goes up in flames

VELLORE: A privately-owned, empty liquor bottle godown went up in flames at Tiruppattur on Sunday. The godown, which comprises of a concrete structure and a hut, belonged to Mani (47), who was in the business of collecting and selling these bottles. It is reported that the hut caught fire at first and the flames spread to the concrete structure. Several empty bottles burst due to the heat. Fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames after a  two-hour struggle. The value of the goods destroyed in the fire is estimated to be a few lakh of rupees.
