HYDERABAD: Coming down heavily on YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana demanded Jagan to come out clean from the corruption charges pending against him in the CBI court.Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, he said : “The CBI categorically said that funds were illegally transferred to companies owned by Jagan and his family members, during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. Hence, the electoral promise of Jagan that he would give a clean governance if he is voted to power is a big joke, as he himself resorted to unethical practices and amassed wealth illegally.’’ He wondered how a man like Jagan was talking about ethics in politics.Voters of Andhra Pradesh were very intelligent and they would teach a fitting lesson to the YSR Congress chief, who has looted public money in the ensuing bypolls, Botcha said.He took strong exception to the statements being made by the leaders of the YSR Congress that the state would go up in flames if Jagan was arrested. When the former BJP president Bangaru Laxman was sentenced a four-year jail term in bribery case, why not Jagan, who committed several economic offences at his will be punished, the PCC chief wanted to know. Congress party would never fight with individuals, it would only fight with the system, Botcha remarked.Meanwhile, the PCC chief threw brickbats at the TDP chief Naidu also. “Chandrababu Naidu is an emperor of corruption. He is the leader who legalised corruption in the state. How can he point an accusing finger at the Congress?” Botcha wondered. He dismissed reports that CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy would be dismissed after the bypolls and asserted that he would remain in the post till 2014 elections.
