Araria: AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Forbesganj in Araria district of Bihar on Friday to know the circumstances leading to the police firing that killed four Muslims on June 3.
Gandhi would land at IAF airbase in Purnia from New Delhi and leave for Forbesganj in Araria district, District Magistrate in-charge Shashi Bhushan Prasad told PTI.
Meanwhile, party sources claimed in Patna that Gandhi would meet the affected villagers at Bhajanpur village in Forbesganj.
He would also be meeting senior civil and police officials, they said.
This is Rahul Gandhi's first visit to Bihar after the Congress suffered a drubbing in the hands of NDA in the assembly elections in the state in October-November 2010.
Four members of a minority community were killed and 30 others injured in firing and clash between securitymen and locals opposing the construction of a starch factory and an approach road at Bhajanpura village in Forbesganj Industrial Area in Araria district on June 3, 2011.
