Recruitment scam: Delhi HC to pronounce verdict on OP Chautala's appeal

New Delhi: It's a crucial day for OP Chautala, the Delhi High Court will pronounce its judgment on the appeal filed by former Haryana chief minister in the Junior Basic Teachers recruitment scam.

OP Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and eight others had been awarded 10 years jail term for illegally recruiting 3,000 junior teachers in the year 2000.

Among other convicts, 44 have been sentenced to four years in jail and one to five-year jail term. The convicts had appealed in Delhi High Court which had reserved its order in the last hearing. All of them were held guilty of cheating, forgery, using fake documents as genuine, conspiracy under IPC and for abusing their official position under Prevention of Corruption Act.
