Rejection of candidature upheld

CHENNAI: The rejection of a candidature on the ground that the candidate did not possess the requisite qualification on the date of submitting the application cannot be challenged in a court of law, Madras HC has held.J Starmi and S Manjula prayed for a direction to the Teachers Recruitment Board to consider their candidature on par with other applicants who had completed the NET prior to April 30, 2010 for post of lecturer in senior scale (Law). Since they did not possess the requisite qualification on the date of submission of application, they did not have the right to be considered for appointment, the judge said.
