HYDERABAD: Stumbled with largescale cash seizures everyday in the election-bound 18 Assembly constituencies and Nellore Lok Sabha seat, the Election Commission is finding ways and means to check the menace.The Commission has sought the support of the people in checking distribution of liquor and money, chief electoral officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal said on Sunday.The Election Commission in coordination with the Income Tax department is planning to propose incentive scheme for the informants on the circulation of money in their area.Bhanwarlal said that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential. The informant may be given a highest share of 10 per cent of the total money seized or a maximum of `5 lakh.Since the poll code came into force, more than Rs 16.5 crore was seized in the poll-bound 12 districts, the CEO said. With the poll date fast approaching, it is likely that major political parties would to resort to largescale distribution of liquor and money, he said. People can send complaints through SMSes about transportation or distribution of money and liquor to any of the following mobile numbers by mentioning the place where the incident occurred including the name of the village, town, and district name so that immediate action can be taken, Bhanwarlal said. The identity of the sender will be kept confidential.
