The state government has released crop compensation of Rs 232 crore for the agriculture and horticulture loss in 2011-12, official sources said here on Thursday.
According to the order issued on September 6, the government has released the amount for 123 drought prone taluks of 2011-12.
The districts which received crop compensation are Bangalore (Rural)- Rs 4.62 crore, Ramnagaram – Rs 9.43 crore, Chitradurga- Rs 11.31 crore, Davangere- Rs 6.25 crore, Kolar- Rs 7.98 crore, Chikballapur- Rs 9.47 crore, Tumkur- Rs 18.02 crore, Chamarajnagar- Rs 10.16 crore, Chikmagalur- Rs 2.21 crore, Hassan- Rs 18.05 crore, Mandya- Rs 28.41 crore, Mysore- Rs 13.82 crore, Bellary- Rs 8.25 crore, Bidar- Rs 11.95 crore, Gulbarga- Rs 12.27 crore, Yadgiri- Rs 7.82 crore, Koppal- Rs 5.81 crore, Raichur- Rs 9.41 crore, Bagalkot- Rs 5.51 crore, Belgaum- Rs 14.90 crore, Bijapur- Rs 7.76 crore, Dharwad- Rs 99.86 lakh, Gadag- Rs 2.99 crore and Haveri- Rs 4.49 crore.
The order says that this compensation /input subsidy should be given to small and marginal farmers who incurred more than 50 per cent crop loss in the rain-fed areas.
However, it would not apply to farmers who incurred potato crop loss
