Rs 54 lakh facelift for two tourist spots

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday allocated Rs 54 lakh towards improving basic amenities in two tourist spots -- Malaikoluntheeswarar temple at Thirumalai in Sivaganga district and Kodiyakkarai in Pudukottai district.For Thirumalai, Rs 16.39 lakh has been earmarked for constructing a modern toilet, shelter and multi-purpose hall apart from fixing handrails along the steps to reach the hill shrine and setting up drinking water facility, an official release here said.Similarly, the Chief Minister has allocated Rs 38 lakh for improving the basic amenities at Kodiyakkarai near Manalmedu village in Pudukottai district. Using this fund, a reception centre, a rest room, a toilet, children’s park and a watch tower will be constructed.
