New Delhi: Supreme Court has asked Central Bureau of Investigation to takeover all investigations related to the controversial Vyapam scam.
The apex court made its stand clear after CBI sought clarification whether it had to take over the 119 pending cases or all 212 cases including charge sheeted ones.
The court has directed CBI to take over all the case within three months. Till date 93 chargesheets have been filed and 119 cases are yet to be probed.
September 11 has been fixed as the next date of hearing.
The multi-crore MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam, popularly known as the Vyapam scam, involving politicians, bureaucrats and high profile touts, pertains to massive admissions and recruitments to government medical colleges and government's departments respectively by fraudulent means.
The MP's Special Task Force, which earlier probed the scam, had registered about 55 FIRs and put up 28 challans in the court in connection with the scandal.
