HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy took stock of the gunny bag supply and rabi crop procurement with chief secretary SV Prasad at a meeting here on Monday.He asked the chief secretary to ensure that farmers were not put to undue hardships during purchase of paddy. As per the instructions of the chief minister, the chief secretary enquired about the situation prevailing in the districts with the officials concerned. The officials informed him that due to bumper harvest and heavy downpour, farmers were being sensitised to bring their produce to the market yards as per arranged schedule.The chief secretary said that around 50 lakh gunny bags were expected to arrive from Kolkata on Monday and they should be dispatched to the districts where there is shortage. He also enquired with the officials about the steps being taken for construction of additional godowns.
