Maharashtra: A fire which broke out at the Deonar dumping ground in Mumbai on Thursday has deteriorated the city's air quality index to the poor category leading to the closure of schools in the area for 2 days.
The Air Quality Index recorded on Friday evening in the city was 325. Moderate winds also spread the smoke emanating from the dumping ground.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted that he spoke to the Municipal Commissioner regarding the issue.
