New Delhi: Delhi serial rapist and killer was attacked in court on Wednesday. The accused was slapped by a group of lawyers at a Delhi court.
According to the police, Ravinder Kumar has been involved in 32 cases of child sexual assault and murder. He has been sent to 14 days judicial custody.
Ravinder, who was arrested last week, has so far admitted his involvement in 32 cases of rape and murder of minor girls in Delhi and neighbouring states of UP and Haryana, a senior police officer said.
The investigators said that he was being taken to places in Delhi and other states where he allegedly committed the heinous crimes since 2009.
The 24-year-old accused, a native of Badaun in UP, was arrested by police last week, in connection with rape and murder of a 6-year-old girl in Begumpur area in Outer Delhi.
During investigation, a police officer said, Ravinder confessed to have committed ghastly crimes of rape and murder of minor girls, raising the number of his victims from earlier 15 to 32 now.
Delhi Police is mulling over a proposal to form an SIT to investigate and bring out the truth related to the accused, a senior police officer of Delhi Police headquarters said.
He was taken in police custody which will end on July 23, the officer said, adding that in view of his long list of victims they will ask the court to give us more time to interrogate him.
Joint Commissioner of North Range Sanjay Singh said investigations into the case are going on in full swing with Delhi Police officials trying to trace his victims.
