Seven killed in Kashmir violence
Five terrorists and two security force personnel were killed in seperate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Srinagar: Five terrorists and two security force personnel were killed in seperate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Police sources said that four terrorists surrendered to the authorities.

Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Mohammad Ibrahim Ganai and a security personnel were killed and a jawan injured in a gun battle at Kanipora-Kulgam in Anantnag district in the early hours on Sunday, a police spokesman said.

Four more terrorists were killed in three seperate shootouts with the security forces at Dardsun-Kralpora, Chandigam-Lolab and Haran Chogal in Kupwara district.

Four AK rifles, 10 grenades and 70 rounds were recovered from the slain terrorists who are yet to be identified, the spokesman said.

The body of Head Constable Gulzar Ahmed Sheikh was found in the fields at Dadsar-Tral in Pulwama district early on Sunday.

The policeman, whose throat was slit, had gone home on leave when he was kidnapped by terrorists from his residence.

Meanwhile, two members of the Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami surrendered to the security forces at Kishtwar in Doda district and handed over an AK rifle, 118 rounds and a grenade, the spokesman said.

A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist and another members of the defunct Muslim Janbaz Force gave themselves up at Banihal in Doda district on Saturday evening, the spokesman said, adding they had handed over an AK rifle, a pistol, three grenades and a wireless set.
