New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a report from the Goa government on allegations against Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal. Tejpal has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman journalist during the 'Think' festival in Goa.
"MHA has sought a detailed report on the incident from Goa government," said Minister of State in the Home Ministry.
Tehelka has already set up a probe panel to look into the allegations leveled by the woman. Earlier in the day, Goa Police registered an FIR against Tejapal for attempting to rape and outraging the modesty of woman.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said police have sufficient evidence for prosecution. "I have given them one direction. no pressure and whoever it may be crime is a crime go after the culprit. Now who the culprit is will come out after the investigation is over," said Parrikar, Goa Police DGP Kishan Kumar has also maintained that there is enough grounds to file FIR against Tejpal.
