Sharma had reportedly given a statement reflecting gender bias.
New Delhi: The Bar Council of India has issued show cause notices to the two defence lawyers ML Sharma and AP Singh over their outrageous statements featured in the Nirbhaya documentary. They have been asked to reply in three weeks time.
Expressing shock over Bar Council's action against him, lawyer ML Sharma said, "People who are accusing me have not seen the documentary. Watching the documentary in India is illegal. We are planning to take action against documentary being watched in India when the government has banned it."
Sharma had reportedly given a statement reflecting gender bias. He reportedly said such incidents of rape are bound to happen if girls go out without proper security.
