Chargesheet says CPMs grudge towards Chandrasekharan resulted in his elimination

The CPM which has sought to distance itself from the murder of  RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan has been nailed by the Special Investigation Team    in  the chargesheet filed  before the Vadakara Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Monday.

The chargesheet has stated that CPM’s grudge towards Chandrasekharan resulted in his elimination at Vallikadu near Onchiyam on May 4.

The report lists out the factors for CPM’s grudge which include the strong challenge posed by the Revolutionary Marxist Party floated by Chandrasekharan way back in 2008 at Onchiyam, Chorode, Azhiyoor and Eramala panchayats, the defeat of CPM candidate in the Vadakara Parliament constituency and the attack on P Mohanan, CPM district secretariat member and chief election agent of the LDF candidate, in Vadakara by RMP activists.

The report adds, “The political rivalry between both parties had then intensified and the CPM decided to kill Chandrasekharan and thereby eliminate the RMP.  Following this, a conspiracy was hatched by CPM leaders on August 2009 and attempted to murder Chandrasekharan many times during September and October 2009  but couldn’t succeed. Since then, incidents of violence between the two parties increased at Onchiyam and Orkatteri areas. There were murder attempts against Onchiyam grama panchayat president and RMP leader P Jayarajan on November 6, 2009 and RMP youth wing leader K K Jayan on March 19, 2010.

“The rivalry between the two parties had reached its zenith on February 2012. The massive public participation in the RMP Onchiyam area committee convention on March 27, 2012, had deepened CPM’s enmity towards Chandrasekharan and in the backdrop of this, the party decided to eliminate him any way.’’
