Syndicate bosses are Congress leaders

VISAKHAPATNAM: All the liquor syndicate offices in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts have been shut down and computers and files shifted to safe places in view of the ACB crackdown.According to leaders of left parties, a majority of the wine shops in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts belong to ruling Congress leaders. ACB DSP of North Coastal districts, KV Ramakrishna Prasad, said they were yet to conduct any raids on liquor syndicate offices in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts.However, an ACB team led by inspector E Narasimha Rao raided liquor syndicate offices in Srikakulam recently. One syndicate is reportedly headed by Congress leader Mamidi Srikanth. ACB officials seized the documents of SVR Groups, another liquor syndicate located in Santhinagar colony and headed by one Oruganti Visweswara Rao. All the documents seized during raids are being analysed, sources said.
