A one-day-old boy, found wrapped
in a gunny bag and thrown into a 40-ft deep dry well, was
rescued Sunday and is being treated at the Government hospital
here, police said. A retired engineer, who was on his morning walk, heard the
infant's cry from the well and asked locals to help. One of them got down and brought the gunny bag up, only to
find the child wrapped in it, police said. The child was immediately rushed to the Government
hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, police said.
