New Delhi: The top brass of RSS will attend a three-day national convention in the capital from April 3 to strengthen coordination among its volunteers across the country working for the poor and downtrodden.

The convention will be inaugurated by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and would be attended by the organisation's second- in-command Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi, besides a host of other leaders.

The meeting, which is expected see the presence of 1.6 lakh volunteers working for the 800-odd RSS-affiliated bodies, is the second one of its kind being held. The first such convention was held in Bengaluru in 2010.

The "Rashtriya Seva Sangam" starting April 3 at Alipur on the outskirts of Delhi, will "showcase" the strength and networking of RSS-affiliated organisations that are working among the socially deprived sections.

"The aim of the programme is to have better coordination and cooperation among the NGOs working for the downtrodden. It will also explore the possibility of improving coordination and cooperation among them," RSS Pracharak Pramukh Manmohan Vaidya said.

Social workers and sponsors of social service projects from the industry and other fields will attend the mega event. Nearly 4000 delegates are expected to participate in the event being organised under the RSS umbrella community service organisation 'Rashtriya Sewa Bharati'.
