Begusarai: A school teacher in Bihar’s Begusarai district forced two girls to strip after they allegedly failed to pay for their uniforms.
The girls are sisters and belong to a poor family from Veerpur village in the district.
Superintendent of Police Ranjit Mishra said that a teacher, Anjana Kumari, and school director NK Jha, were arrested on Friday night on the basis of the complaint filed by the father of the girls.
Both the accused were arrested and sent to judicial custody after they were produced before the magistrate on Saturday.
The father said, "I went to BR Academy at 1 PM on Friday to pick up my daughters. My younger daughter told me that Anjana Kumari wanted to meet me. She insisted I pay for the school uniform. I promised to pay by June but she didn’t relent and forced my daughters to strip. When I went to the director, he also rebuked and told me to take my daughters in that semi-naked condition.”
State education minister Ashok Chaudhary has condemned this incident and promised to enquire into the matter.
