Undertrial accused escapes from court, police official accompanying him found missing

An undertrial accused in a murder case escaped from a local court in Sitapur after which the cop accompanying him also went missing, police said on Sunday.

Sunny Singh, who was in jail since 2009 in a murder and gangster case, was taken to the court with head constable Ajai Pal Singh on Saturday.

Circle Officer S K Singh said that Sunny escaped from the court on Saturday evening and the head constable who took him tocourt was also missing.

SP Sitapur Rajesh Krishna said that a case had been registered against Sunny and constable Ajai Pal.
