THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The question hour in the Assembly on Thursday witnessed several uproarious scenes as the CPM-led Opposition came with posters and placards protesting against the police lathi charge on SFI and AISF activists.Not just this, some of the LDF members came with the blood-stained clothes of the student leaders who were injured in the police lathi charge before the Assembly and University College here on Wednesday.The Opposition members did not take part in the question-answer session and whenever the Speaker called them for their turn, all the members raised the issue of police highhandedness against the students. This the Speaker did not allow and eventually it led to the trooping of Opposition members into the well of the House several times.   Saturday to be working day for schoolsEducation Minister P K Abdu Rabb informed the Assembly that the State Government was exploring the possibility of making Saturday a working day for the all the schools in the state. He also said that those educational institutions which were not obeying the government directives would face serious actions. The instruction to impose Malayalam language in all schools will be strictly imposed, he said in a written reply.At present there are 863 unaided schools in the state. As per the statistics available when compared to the previous year, there is a fall of  1,20,914 students in 2011-12 across the state.   ResurveyRevenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said that the government land would be given priority during resurveys. In private lands survey will be conducted based on the request from the land owners. Almost 80,000 cases are pending for resurveys out of the total 20 lakh cases received by the State Government, he added. Money chainChief Minister Oommen Chandy informed the House that at present the government was not planning to give any compensation to those affected by the money chain fraud. He said that all the cases related to this had been handed over to Crime Branch CID and Crime Branch ADGP was heading the probe team. In April, May and June this year alone, 205 money chain frauds have been reported and 402 cases have been registered and 59 persons have been arrested in connection with this.
