KOCHI: Lapendofusion 2011, an international workshop on keyhole surgery in the treatment of urology and renal diseases, concluded on Sunday. Methods used for rectifying defects in prostrate gland through keyhole surgery were presented on the concluding day. Experts who took part in the conference pointed out that surgeries which were performed through two or three keyholes can now be performed through a single hole. Visuals of the kidney transplantation performed on a 40-year-old woman through keyhole surgery at the Lakeshore Hospital was shown at the conference.Organising committee chairman Dr George P Abraham presided over the function. Secretary Dr Krishanu Das, treasurer Dr R Krishnamohan, Kerala Urology Association secretary Dr G Venugopal, Kochi Uro Club president R Vijjayan and Dr Mallikarjuna spoke.
