In connection with the ambitious programme Vision 2030, mooted for raising Kochi to the status of a metropolitan city, the Greater Cochin Development Authority will organise a two-day seminar on August 16 and 17.
The seminar will discuss the need for boosting the infrastructure facilities to convert the city to metropolitan status and the need for developing a comprehensive development plan.
“Along with it, the seminar will also look into the draft proposals mooted by GCDA and the ongoing development projects carried out by the authority,” said GCDA chairman N Venugopal.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Speaker G Karthikeyan. The valedictory function will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
“More than 2500 persons including engineers, architects, town planners, representatives from various institutions, NGOs, office-bearers of various development councils and political party representatives are expected to attend the seminar,” Venugopal said.
Meanwhile, GCDA will also launch an official website for Vision 2030. The site will be officially launched on August 3.
