Water supply to be affected for 2 days

BANGALORE: It seems there is no end to the sufferings of the citizens of the Bangalore East who once again will have to go without water supply for two days starting Wednesday.The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) that had undertaken the new pipe laying work on Millers Road will have to shutdown the old pipelines to shift to the new pipelines.The water supply in the following areas such as Frazer Town, Benson Town, Pillanna Garden, Cox Town, D J Halli, K G Halli, Machallibetta, HRBR Layout, OMBR, OBR, NGEF east, Kasturinagar, Banaswadi, Maruthi Sevanagar, Baiyappanahalli, Kushalnagar, Jeevanahalli and Ramaswamy Nagar and other areas will affected for two days."The work to lay the 600 mm feeder line to supply water to Bangalore East is complete. The feeder lines were right in the centre of the road and since Millers Road sees a heavy vehicular movement that old pipes had frequent leakage. Due to the leakage there was was water shortage in ITI, Pillanna Garden, Frazer Town, Benson Town and other areas. Hence, new feeder line was laid to replace the old ones," a Senior BWSSB official said.
