BANGALORE: As an initiative to welcome the physically challenged people into the police stations, the city police, in association with Provision Asia, an NGO, have provided wheelchairs to the police stations. At an event held at CAR South office on Monday, DG IGP S T Ramesh distributed wheel chairs to various police stations.
In the introductory stage, 51 police stations were given a wheelchair and other stations, will have a wheelchair in various stages. Speaking at the event, Ramesh said that Provision Asia was doing a noble job by helping the physically challenged people."In these days, it is necessary that police stations be equipped with wheelchairs to facilitate physically challenged people who come to stations. Now, it has become a reality with the kind gesture of Provision Asia," he lauded. "Presently, 51 stations have been given the wheelchair, other stations will be provided wheelchair after building a ramp in stations. The project will also be extended to stations across the state in various stages," he added.
