BANGALORE: A housewife who was allegedly house arrested by her husband since nine months, was freed by a NGO working for woman rights.The incident was reported on Pipeline Road in Vyalikaval police limits  on Wednesday. Police said, Chandrashekhar, a shop keeper, had locked up his wife, Usha, in the house for nine months. When the neighbours questioned him about it, he told them that Usha was mentally ill and hence he had locked her up. An NGO came to know about this approached the police and got Usha released.The couple had married seven years ago and have two children, who are studying in Udupi, the couple’s native place, the police informed.
