Adil Hussain has grabbed headlines after a fan mistakenly congratulated him for winning a medal in the Paris Olympics. He confused him with Turkey’s shooter Yusuf Dikec. The post went viral in no time and caught the actor’s attention. Immediately Adil reacted. Yusuf Dikec won a silver medal.

On Friday, a netizen shared a collage of Yusuf and Adil’s photos and wrote, “Congratulations sir @_AdilHussain on winning silver at Olympics 2024 for Turkey. Respect.” Reacting to the user, Adil wrote, “Wish this was true… May be it’s not to late to start practicing… Since I have the attitude need to work on the skill set now,” and added a laughing emoticon.

Adil told Hindustan Times, “I don’t think the tweet was done because of a misunderstanding. It was a deliberate thing that they have done. It was made in a jest, so I was not shocked after stumbling upon it. Instead, I found it really funny and amusing.”

Actor Adil Hussain is currently seen in Ulajh as Janhvi Kapoor’s father. He is known for his role as Sridevi’s husband in Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish. In an exclusive interview with News18 in Showsha, Adil shared fond memories of working with the late Sridevi and spoke of how effortlessly Janhvi imagined him as her father, drawing on the reel connection he had with her late mother.

On being asked if they spoke about the late actress, Adil said, “It’s hard for me to bring her up. My heart aches; I can’t even digest or understand that she’s not there. I can’t even imagine the pain Janhvi probably still feels. My mother just passed this month, and she was 95 years old. Imagining a young mother passing away, I didn’t have the guts to bring it up. But we spoke about how we met on the set of English Vinglish.”
