Yami Gautam has made a powerful comeback to the silver screen with the compelling film Article 370. Since the launch of its trailer, the movie has been met with a positive response, and following its release last week, it has achieved tremendous success, even earning praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The actress recently shared an exciting BTS video of her gun-training for the film.
On Thursday, Yami Gautam took to her Instagram handle and shared a clip, in which she can be seen handling revolvers, machine guns and sub machine guns with the help of trainers. Right from the stance to the process of reloading and aiming it, Yami can be seen acing all the lessons gradually, and the sequences are interspersed with movie scenes. The actress penned the caption, “My performance in #Article370 wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t for the Military Experts, Lieutenant Colonel Keshvendra Singh sir (Retd.) and Bhushan Vartak sir (NSG), our Weapon Training Instructors (Mumbai Prep) sharing their expertise to train and mentor me and the cast. Your guidance has been invaluable, and I am immensely grateful for your knowledge, support & introducing me to a skill & experience that will stay with me forever. #Article370.”
Take a look:
Article 370 features Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer named Zooni Haksar. The film revolves around the removal of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir by the central government. The film is set in the valley and is inspired by true events. Article 370 was revoked by the central government in 2019. While it was earlier reported that the film has been banned in all Gulf countries, the latest reports claim that the film is awaiting certification and has not been banned.
The film minted Rs. 6.12 crores on its opening day at the domestic box office. The film offers audiences a gripping narrative woven with political intrigue, national security, and pulse-pounding action sequences. Besides Yami, the film also stars Priyamani, Arun Govil, Kiran Karmakar and Vaibhav Tatwawadi among others in key roles. The film is directed by Aditya Jambhale and produced by Aditya Dhar, Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande.
News18 Showsha’s review of the film reads, “Article 370 has been shot in some real locations that impart a lot of authenticity to the narrative. Cinematographer Siddharth Vasani captures the essence of Kashmir with such aplomb that each frame set there smells of the valley. The solemnity of the narrative is perfectly conveyed through the muted tones of blue and grey that predominate the film. At 2 hours and 40 minutes, Article 370 largely manages to keep you hooked. The makers waste no time and dive into the crux of the story in the first half, and it makes for a fast-paced experience till the point of intermission.”
Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also talked about the film. He said, “I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week… It is a good thing as it will help people get the correct information.”
