Diljit Dosanjh will be seen in Border 2, a new report has claimed. The Punjabi superstar is likely to share the screen with Sunny Deol. It is said that Diljit will play the role of a real-life soldier in the film. However, the identity of the Army officer is still under the wraps.
“Diljit Dosanjh has joined Sunny Deol in Border 2,” a source told Peeping Moon. “His character details are currently kept under wraps, but Dosanjh is enthusiastic about the opportunity to play a real army officer and will soon begin his preparation to fully inhabit the role,” the insider added.
If that wasn’t enough, it also claimed that the makers have approached Ayushmann Khurrana as well to play a pivotal role in the film. “(Ayushmann) is still in negotiations with the makers and hasn’t given his final approval yet. Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty is rumoured to be in the cast as well, although we were unable to confirm this. Punjabi actor Ammy Virk, who was recently seen in Bad Newz, was also rumoured to join the film, but it’s unclear if he is still a part of it or Diljit Dosanjh will take on the character initially intended for him,” the report added.
Sunny Deol announced Border 2 in June this year, on the 27th anniversary of Border. Sunny shared a video in which we can hear his voice saying ‘27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.” The caption read, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.” As soon as the video was shared, fans started commenting. Many fans wrote, ‘Super excited.” Many even called it blockbuster.
The release date is yet to be announced.
