Drug Peddler Linked to Sushant Singh Rajput Probe Arrested in Goa
Three persons, including one Maharaj Shah, who is allegedly linked to the drug probe following the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput last year, have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau officials in Goa, an official said on Monday.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which has launched a massive crackdown on the cartel of drugs, conducted multiple operations in Goa. In one such operation, the NCB’ sub zonal Goa unit along with an operational team of NCB Mumbai led by zonal director IRS Sameer Wankhade conducted searches in Assagao in the intervening night of 7 and 8 March 2021 and succeeded in recovering 41 blots of LSD in commercial quantity, Charas 28 Grams, Cocaine 22 Grams, Ganja 1.100 KGs, 160 grams of white powder believed to be Narcotics Drugs/Psychotropic substance, 500 grams blue crystal substance suspected to be psychotropic substance and an amount of Rs 10,000 Indian rupees.

“With regards to this operation, we have arrested two foreign nationals namely Ugochukwu Solomon Ubabuko from Nigeri & John Infinity from Congo. During follow-up action, we searched the premises of one Prasad Walke & recovered LSD blots. Walke is a history sheeter who had already been booked by NCB Goa in year 2018 for trafficking of LSD, Cocaine, Estacy & Ganja” said NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhade while speaking to CNN News18.

Meanwhile in a separate operation conducted on 7 March, the NCB Mumbai unit succeeded in apprehending another major drug supplier Hemant Saha also known as Maharaj from Miramar in Panjim Goa. According to sources from the NCB this raid was linked to the drug probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

The name of said Hemant Saha alias Maharaj had already been named by accused Anuj Keswani and Regal Mahakaal who have already been charge sheeted recently by the NCB in Mumbai, where is is a supplier of LSD and Charas. Hemant Saha is native of Madhya Pradesh and was running a shack BUENA VIDA in Morjim area for past several years. After locating Hemant Saha @ Maharaj in Miramar area, his premises was raided in the late evening which resulted in recovery of 15 blots of LSD (commercial quantity) and Charas 30 grams.

The raids meanwhile have got a political overtone to it. The opposition has hit out at the ruling government saying it was protecting the drug peddlars. Goa Forwards Durgadas Kamat tweeted “All Drug peddlars are under complete patronage of Dr Pramod Sawant’s Govt in the State and Police are helpless.”
