Mumbai: After being screened at several international film festivals, 'Algorithms' is now making its way to the Indian theatres. PVR Director's Rare will be releasing the movie on 21st August 2015. The film is directed by the sociologist and documentary filmmaker Ian McDonald. It will be screened in theatres across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.
'Algorithms' is a documentary on the thriving but little known world of blind chess in India. Filmed for over three years, Algorithms travels with three young blind chess players, one champion player turned pioneer and their story of competing in national and world level chess championships.The movie moves through the maze of the blind chess world and reveals the daily life struggles, anxieties and hopes of these players.
Speaking on the release, Sanjeev Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Group said,“PVR Director's Rare is proud to be associated with such an acclaimed documentary like Algorithms. The movie stars blind chess players Chardudutta Jhadav, Darpan Inani, SaiKrishna S.T and Anant Kumar Nayak.
‘Algorithms’ will be releasing across theaters in India on Aug 21, 2015.
