Actress Janhvi Kapoor is all geared up for the release of her upcoming romantic sports drama, Mr & Mrs Mahi. Janhvi, who plays Mahima in the film starring Rajkummar Rao, was recently spotted wearing outfits with the number six on them. She recently revealed the reason behind it. On May 11, she wore a pink Barbie sleeveless crop top that had the number six written on it, paired with a black and white striped skirt. On May 3, she wore a blue half-sleeved crop top that had ‘Mahi 6’ written on the front and ‘Cricket is life aur life is cricket’ on the back.
When asked what the deal is with the number 6 on her promo outfits and what is the myth behind it, Janhvi responded in an Ask Me Anything session with fans on Instagram. The actress explained, “Mahima’s jersey number is 6 and although she is a huge MS Dhoni fan, like all of us, his jersey number is 7. When we were deciding, Sharan Sharma, I and all of us, what jersey number I should wear in the film, we realised that ‘7’ should be Sir Dhoni’s number only out of respect and we should choose another one. Six is supposed to be my lucky number and hopefully it will bring me luck too”.
Janhvi further stated, “So Mahima’s jersey number is 6 and Sir Dhoni’s jersey number is 7 and should always be 7. Nobody should or can take number 7.”
The actress, who was last seen in the film Bawaal, said that Mr & Mrs Mahi is a love story and a family drama. “There is comedy, romance, cricket and emotions,” Janhvi concluded.
The film tells the story of an imperfectly perfect partnership between a couple with a shared love for cricket. Directed by Sharan Sharma, Mr & Mrs Mahi is the second collaboration between Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, who previously worked together in the 2021 film Roohi. Mr & Mrs Mahi is scheduled to release on May 31.
