Just one day to celebrate womanhood? Not justified: Neha Dhupia
Neha Dhupia speaks exclusively to IBNLive.com about women who inspire her, and why just a day to celebrate women's achievements isn't sufficient.

New Delhi: International Women's Day is around the corner and actress Neha Dhupia respects all those who contribute to the society irrespective of their fields and leave no stone unturned to make a difference to everybody during their lifetime.

In an exclusive interaction with IBNLive.com, Neha spoke about the ones who combat every difficulty to emerge winners and those who set an example of how perfect the best women we all possibly can be. From the women she has met, interacted, lived with to how they are inspirational in their own ways, Neha discussed it all.

"As far as being a woman is concerned, I never thought of having it any other way. When I see women - who don't have access to basic education and opportunities to prove themselves like the most fortunate ones - doing extremely well and proving their abilities, it feels great. There is so much to learn from each of these achievers," says Neha.

"Just a few days back I met a Paralympian. She is a woman, and paralyzed from the chest down, and represents India. Isn't that really inspiring? Through my charities I have met several such women who have faced challenges, proved others wrong and achieved a lot despite limited resources. I take inspiration from my mom and just every woman I have met at work," she adds.

And as Neha tells us, just a day is not enough to acknowledge the achievements of women. "Just a day for womanhood is not enough. As far as Women's Day is concerned, we are glorifying it a lot. And the fact that you are a woman, have the ability to give life and spread the joy in so many different ways, I don't think a day to celebrate womanhood is justified," she rues.
