Indian Idol 12 contestants are getting appreciation from many fans and celebrities. One of the film industry personalities to acknowledge and admire these contestants was filmmaker, Karan Johar. He took to Twitter to give encouragement to the participants but was trolled for his tweet. In his tweet, he said that he was blown away by the talent on the singing reality show.
He also further expressed his desire to work with them. He tagged the judges on the show, Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya. However, the tweet was taken in a bad taste by the twitterati. While some mentioned the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in their comments, others questioned him about his knowledge in the field. Some even asked him to update everyone with the film announcements instead.
A social media user wrote, “Do you really understand musical talents!! First start making quality films.. help us getting convinced you are talented in your own field.” Another one wrote, “Hope, this time you will give free hands to your music director/s to bring melody back and songs are picturized on character and not in background or after the film ends. You can do it. Only you are carrying the flag of your father. Rest have fled. Will there be live recording?”
Some of them demanded an update on Deepika Padukone’s film with Shakun Batra and Alia Bhatt’s film, Brahmastra.

Social media trolling is an endless activity and the director-producer has been at the receiving end of the same for a long time now. Despite the negative comments, he went ahead and wished everyone on the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2021.
On the work front, he had announced his own directorial namely Takht in 2019. The star cast had Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar in the lead. However, there has been no recent update since last year.
