Lokesh Kanagaraj And Atlee's Selfie Carries A Special Message For Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT

Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time was released today, on September 5, at the theatres amid much fanfare and received praise from the audience. Early reviews have indicated a favourable response from the audience for this film directed by Venkat Prabhu. Now, a Twitter post of director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Atlee wishing GOAT’s cast and crew has gone viral. Tweeting his and Atlee’s picture from an aeroplane, he tweeted, “Wishing you the absolute best for #TheGOAT @actorvijay na Wishing @vp_offl @Ags_production@archanakalpathi and the entire cast and crew for the movie to be a raging success. From your boys @Dir_Lokesh & @Atlee_dir.”

Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Yogi Babu and others have played key roles in this film. The GOAT has witnessed a phenomenal craze during the advanced bookings. The ETimes report states that the film is expected to cross Rs 100 crore globally on the first day. The excitement for the film can also be gauged by the fact that the Tamil Nadu government reportedly allowed its early screening in only one Tamil Nadu theatre – in Coimbatore. The theatre’s name is Broadway Cinemas and the early screening occurred here at 7 AM. In the other regions of Tamil Nadu, the first screening was scheduled at 9:00 AM. The permission for the special screening was requested for two days. The State Government allowed the permit for a day only.

The Greatest Of All Time has been the centre of attention on social media since its inception. GOAT is attracting more spotlight than any of Vijay’s other films primarily because it is one of his last projects. The GOAT actor had previously said that he would move away from films after he started his political career. Vijay’s political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam was started in February. The actor had announced that he would be contesting the 2026 State Assembly Elections. His party did not support any political bloc in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections. In these elections, the DMK-led alliance swept the polls in Tamil Nadu.

After the formation of Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam, Vijay is now reportedly gearing up for his first-ever political conference. As per The Print, Vijay has asked his party cadre to take a Left-of-Centre stance and venerate BR Ambedkar, Periyar and K Kamaraj.
