Abhay Verma, celebrated for his role in ‘Munjya’, has been cast in Siddharth Anand’s highly anticipated film ‘King’. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, this action-packed thriller also features Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Abhay Verma is set to play a crucial catalyst in ‘King’. A source revealed, “Abhay Verma has got a lot of appreciation for his performance in Munjya and the same is reflected in the kind of offers coming his way. He has bagged a key role in King alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. He is excited to venture into this tentpole feature film.” However, details about his character are currently under wraps.
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix, ‘King’ is shaping up to be an intense action thriller. “With the script finalized, the production team has scouted shooting locations in India and abroad. They are now finalizing the ensemble cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, aiming to commence filming in November 2024,” the source added.
The film will explore a mentor-protégé relationship between SRK and Suhana Khan, with Abhishek Bachchan portraying the antagonist. Speaking about the film’s plot, a source had earlier told Pinkvilla, “The flavour of action in King will be very different from what SRK has done in Pathaan and Jawan. This one would be sleek with a lot of chase sequences. However, the core plot is emotional and driven by the story. It has lots of twists and turns, which is the reason why Sujoy has been bestowed with the responsibility of direction.”
King promises to be a unique action thriller featuring Shah Rukh Khan in a raw and rugged avatar. The narrative delves into the mentor-protégé bond between SRK and Suhana Khan, with Abhishek Bachchan as the negative force. The film’s music and background score are being composed by Anirudh, and the action sequences are being designed by top industry experts.
