Scriptwriter Murali Gopy, who is currently busy with the production work of Mohanlal’s upcoming film L2: Empuraan, has announced his next project. He is writing the screenplay for the upcoming multilingual film starring Arya. The yet-to-be-titled film, directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, went on floors on August 7. The film’s puja ceremony was held at the prominent 3,000-year-old temple, Mangalanatha Swamy Temple in Tamil Nadu. This Malayalam-Tamil multilingual film will also mark Murali Gopy and director Jiyen Krishnakumar’s second collaboration after Tiyaan, which hit theatres in 2017. The upcoming film will boast an ensemble cast including Santhy Balachandran, Nikhila Vimal, Saritha Kukku, Appani Sarath, Sabumon Abdusamad, Indrans, Siddique, Renji Panicker, and many other prominent actors from the Kannada,Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam film industries.
The movie has been bankrolled by S Vinod Kumar under the banners of Mini Studio, marking his 14th film after the popular Tamil film Mark Antony. Other details regarding the film still remain under wraps.
The scriptwriter took to his Instagram handle to announce the commencement of the film. Sharing the pictures from the puja ceremony, he wrote, “Stills from the pooja of my next as a writer and actor. The Malayalam-Tamil multilingual movie, which is being directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar and produced by S Vinodkumar under the banner of Mini Studios, will have Arya leading the cast.”
Actor Arya, on the other hand, also dropped a social media post on his Instagram handle, sharing his excitement. Arya wrote, “New Beginning… New story to tell… excited to join with a passionate team: Script Writer @muraligopynsta sir and Director @jiyen.krishnakumar sir and my brother @vinodkumar_offcl [email protected]_official for this multilingual film. Need all your prayers and love.”
Written by Murali Gopy, L2: Empuraan stars Manju Warrier, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, and Sachin Khedekar. The film is the second instalment of Prithiraj Sukumaran’s directorial Lucifer, and all the actors are reprising their roles.
The action crime thriller showcases the journey of Stephen Nedumpilly and how he became Khureshi Ab’Ram, the leader of an international crime organisation. Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas, the film is all set to hit the silver screens next year. Empuraan will be released in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi.
