Actor Raveena Tandon recently revealed that she refused to take pictures with a few men in London, citing her lingering trauma from a road rage incident in Mumbai. In June, Raveena was falsely accused of being drunk and involved in a car accident, claims later debunked by Mumbai police. Reflecting on the recent encounter, the actor opened up about the anxiety she now experiences in public settings.
Taking to social media platform X, Raveena shared how the London episode unfolded. “A few men approached me while I was walking alone,” she wrote, explaining that she had already heard unsettling reports about the rising crime in the city. Feeling cautious, she instinctively stepped back when the men asked if she was indeed Raveena Tandon. “My first instinct was to say no and walk away faster as I was alone. They just wanted a picture, I guess, and I usually oblige,” she wrote.
However, the lingering effects of the road rage incident from Bandra, Mumbai, left her feeling vulnerable. “The incident a few months ago has left me nervous and traumatised,” she confessed.
Raveena admitted that she typically feels safer when accompanied by friends or family but often gets anxious when alone, especially in unfamiliar places. While she regretted her reaction in hindsight, she expressed how difficult the situation was. “I probably should’ve given them a photo. They were maybe innocent fans, but I panicked and walked away quickly.”
In her heartfelt note, she also offered an apology to the men who approached her. “I feel really bad after this incident. I want to apologise through this medium if they are reading. It wasn’t my intention to offend.” She continued, “I try to be as accessible as possible, but I fail at times. Sorry guys. I hope you understand.”
Earlier in June, a man had claimed that Raveena’s car struck his mother, and he alleged that the actor was drunk and assaulted the woman. However, Mumbai police confirmed that the claims were untrue, based on CCTV footage from the area.
