Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is marrying her longtime boyfriend, actor Zaheer Iqbal today, June 23, in Mumbai. The wedding festivities kicked off earlier this week with much needed pomp and splendour. Ahead of the sacred knot ceremony, the bride was earlier spotted performing Puja with Dad Shatrughan Sinha. The Dabangg actress exuded bridal glow, as the paparazzi captured her.

Sonakshi looked comfy and elegant in a blue salwar kameez, which she teamed with a pair of netted chunni. With a neat hair bun, she was spotted stepping out of a room, when the shutterbugs captured her.
Although her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam did not attend the ceremony, they were later seen with the bride and groom at home. Shatrughan gave his blessings to the couple in public after days of speculation that he was unhappy with Sonakshi for not informing him about her wedding plans.
Sonakshi and Zaheer will be having a civil marriage on June 23, the groom-to-be’s father, Iqbal Ratansi has revealed. In a recent interview, Zaheer’s father shed light on their marriage when he told Free Press Journal, “It will have neither Hindu nor Muslim rituals. It will be a civil marriage.”
Zaheer’s father further dismissed reports claiming Sonakshi might convert to Islam after her wedding. “She is not converting and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever,” he said and then added, “I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.”
Meanwhile, after the wedding ceremony, Sonakshi and Zaheer will host a wedding party in Mumbai’s Bastian, and several Bollywood stars are expected to attend. It will reportedly be a star-studded affair. Previously, Honey Singh and Poonam Dhillon confirmed that they have also been invited. News18 Showsha has also exclusively learnt that Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding won’t really be an intimate affair as it will see some of the biggest names in Bollywood gracing their big day to shower blessings and love on the couple.
A source close to the couple told us that actors Aayush Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Varun Sharma are likely to attend the wedding. Besides this, Salman Khan has also been sent an invitation. Sonakshi has also invited her Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar co-stars including Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharmin Segal Mehta among others.
