Actress Kajol celebrated the 26th anniversary of her hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai on her social media. The movie, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji, featured a memorable cameo by Salman Khan. Kajol, who portrayed the lively and lovable character Anjali, expressed that she is “still feeling the same” about the film. She shared several photos of herself with SRK and Rani on her Instagram, reminiscing about their time together on set.
Alongside the clicks, she wrote, “Still feeling the same .. even tho I seem to have grown up 26 years later ! #kkhh #rahulisacheater #friendship #anjali #26years.”
Karan Johar shared a montage video featuring both iconic scenes and behind-the-scenes moments from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In his caption, he fondly reflected on the film and its impact. He wrote, “Of cool neck chains, neon shirts, pink head bands, summer camp with only dancing involved, wishing on toota taaras, cheating in basketball, dosti that turns into pyaar and characters that live through time and beyond!!.” He continued, expressing gratitude for the experience, saying, “To my first film as a director. To the best cast & crew on set. To taking that feeling of day one and keeping it alive….26 years later!.”
Last year, in an interaction with Humans of Bombay, Kajol opened up about the evolution of Anjali. She mentioned that her version of Anjali would wear track pants with sneakers instead of a saree. “My version of Anjali would never be wearing a saree. She would be wearing those track pants and fab, expensive sneakers with it and make that look good,” she said.
When asked to choose between Rahul and Aman, Kajol revealed, “On script level, maybe I would have gone with Salman’s character, but in the film, if you watch the film, there is no choice about the ending; it has to be the way it is.”
