Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor is set to release on August 15, aligning with Independence Day.

Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is one of the most eagerly awaited horror comedies of the year. The excitement among fans has been palpable, especially following the release of the spooky and hilarious trailer last month. With the release date drawing near, the filmmakers have delighted fans once again by dropping a lively new song titled ‘Aayi Nai’. This peppy track adds to the anticipation, promising more thrills and laughs in the much-awaited sequel.

It is fresh, energetic, and distinctly Bhojpuri. Helmed by Bhojpuri Powerstar Pawan Singh, ‘Aayi Nai’ serves as an ideal uplift for fans as the weekend approaches. The lively beats, combined with the slightly provocative yet catchy lyrics, are sure to entice listeners to the dance floor. There, one can witness Shraddha and Rajkummar engaging with the track. Their enthusiastic dancing, along with that of co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, adds to the overall enjoyment. The performance is captivating, culminating in a memorable moment where Shraddha lifts Rajkummar into the air. Indeed, it is a scene not to be missed.

Take a look:

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Stree, which grossed nearly Rs 200 crore worldwide. Since the success of the first film, Maddock Films has expanded the universe with several interconnected movies, the latest being the surprise hit Munjya, which earned Rs 130 crore globally.

The trailer for Stree 2 opens with a chilling voiceover introducing a new supernatural threat: ‘Sarkate’, a headless horseman reminiscent of the legendary Sleepy Hollow figure. To combat this eerie new foe, the beloved trio from the first film—Vicky, Jana, and Bittu—reunite and seek the help of Shraddha Kapoor’s enigmatic character. Kapoor makes a dramatic entrance with acrobatic flair, ready to assist the friends and the sagacious Rudra in their battle against Sarkate.

Fans of the franchise will not be disappointed, as the trailer is packed with visually impressive scares and the witty one-liners that have become a hallmark of the series. The humor is sharp, with playful jabs at the film Kabir Singh and the viral meme ‘Sonam bewafa hai’, alongside self-referential jokes featuring Rajkummar Rao.

Stree 2 marks the first direct sequel in the series and brings back the original cast, including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, with Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. Each actor has seen their star rise since the first film’s release. Rajkummar Rao has been busy with notable films such as Mr & Mrs Mahi and Srikanth this year. Pankaj Tripathi returned in the eagerly awaited third season of Mirzapur, while Shraddha Kapoor charmed audiences opposite Ranbir Kapoor in the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

Stree 2 is set to release on August 15, aligning with the Independence Day holiday, and promises to deliver a blend of horror and comedy that will keep audiences entertained and on the edge of their seats.
