Bollywood actress Tabu weighed in on the reason she and Shah Rukh Khan have not worked together since Saathiya. The actress, in a recent interview, was asked what has stopped her and SRK from reuniting. Tabu said that she is not a filmmaker or a scriptwriter who can answer the question, and added that she also has no control over which film Shah Rukh should and shouldn’t do.
Tabi and SRK have not reunited since Saathiya, in 2002. The actors played a couple in the cameo role in the film. While the internet has been shipping their reunion for years now, the Dune Prophecy star confessed there were offers to reunite with him that crossed her path but it didn’t work in their favour.
Speaking with Galatta India, Tabu said, “I am not a producer, I am not a director, I am not a scriptwriter, I am really not dictating who Shah Rukh Khan works with. Okay? And which films are going to be made and which films are going to be offered to me next. I can only say yes or no from what is offered to me,” she said.
“(There were films), I know what I have refused and I am sure he has also refused a few. Aisa kuch hua nahi ke our paths crossed. But I must respect the fact that a lot of people want to see me and Shah Rukh together, I will not discount all that,” she said.
Earlier this month, Tabu opened up about appearing in the song Deewangi Deewangi, in Om Shanti Om. The actress revealed that SRK generously gifted expensive presents to all the celebrities who participated in the film.
During a candid chat with Zoom, Tabu shared, “A lot of people want to see us together. There was a shot that all of us did. I did it for Farah and yeah, it was great fun. They made me some great clothes, great hair and makeup, and we got very expensive gifts from Shah Rukh Khan.”
