Pune: All eyes are set on the biggest clash of the year as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Dilwale' directed by Rohit Shetty hit the theaters on December 18.
'Bajirao Mastani', narrating a tale of historical romance has already landed in controversy even before its official release. The film depicts the story of Peshwa Bajirao, the warrior of the Maratha Empire and his second wife Mastani. With Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone in lead roles, Priyanka Chopra will also be seen in the role of Bajirao's first wife Kashibai.
With protests by the state's ruling party, Pune's City Pride theater cancelled three shows of film 'Bajirao Mastani' after the agitated protests by Bhartiya Janata Party.
BJP members say that Bajirao has been insulted in the movie. BJP alleged for 'distroted portrayal' of the character of Peshwa in the film. The party members believe that he is not depicted in proper manner in the film in various scenes.
Much before this, 'Bajirao Mastani' landed in a controversy with the descendant of Bajirao Peshwa alleging that historical facts have been 'altered'.
