Richa Chadha is basking in the success of her latest TV series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The actress, who is expecting her first child, is garnering praise from viewers for her role as Lajwanti aka Lajjo. From the regal outfits to her vintage hairstyles and makeup, everything was perfectly executed by skilled and talented artists. Now, Richa has penned a gratitude note for the hair and makeup team behind her memorable character Lajjo.

On Instagram, Richa shared a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot of Heeramandi. Her post included photos of Sanajay Leela Bhansali, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal Mehta and Manisha Koirala.

In her caption, Richa reflected on the fun she had on the set despite playing a brief role. She also praised her team of fashion designers and hair and makeup artists for their dedicated work in helping her bring the character of Lajjo to life on screen. She wrote, “It’s been a month since the premiere, surreal. Contrary to Lajjo’s grief, I was always cracking up and happy on the set! Although my part probably was the smallest, the dates were spread out so it gave me the wonderful opportunity to work with a few brilliant hands for makeup and hair.”

She further thanked makeup artists Shaylinayak and Kunj Shah for their efficient work and energy. She also extended thanks to makeup artist and filmmaker Harry Rajput, who contributed to the mirror scene and cafe scene, noting that they do a lot of work together and are creative buddies. She praised the brilliant cinematic makeup artist Tanuja Dabir for the song, Masoom Dil Hai Mera. She also mentioned hairstylists Rami Halder and Ashis Bogi, whose work is widely seen on Instagram with behind-the-scenes content. “I am grateful that your hands beautified me,” she added.

Richa concluded by writing, “No matter what an actor claims, it takes a village… and then beautiful lighting and costumes, and jewellery. So, thank you. An actor, if given an opportunity, must do all kinds of things. It’s good brain exercise too to challenge yourself and see your capability.”

Soon after, her co-star in the series Manisha Koirala dropped a comment, “Well said! It does take a village!” Actor Taha Shah Badussha and Indresh Malik also showered love on her post.

On the personal front, Richa Chadha is expecting her first child with husband Ali Fazal.
