Taking to Instagram, Lyca Productions has unveiled a video revealing Warrier’s character name as Thara. She is playing the lead role in the film as the wife of Rajnikanth. “Meet the heart and soul of VETTAIYAN Introducing @manju.warrier as THARA. Vettaiyan marks the first film of the actress with the superstar Rajinikanth. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on October 10. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film is said to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages.
The film features a stellar cast, including Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who will share the screen with Rajinikanth for the fourth time. Earlier, they collaborated on films like Andhaa Kanoon, Geraftaar, and Hum. Vettaiyan also features Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan in important roles. Earlier, the makers released the song Manasilayo from the film. The song has become a viral sensation and enthralled audiences with its vagrant beats and high-energy performances. The song is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Born into a Malayali family in Tamil Nadu, Warrier first appeared in the television serial Moharavam. The actress marks her film debut in the 1995 film Sakshyam. Later in 1999, her film Kannezhuthi Pottum won a special mention from the jury for the National Film Awards.
