Taking to Instagram, Lyca Productions has unveiled a video revealing Warrier’s character name as Thara. Vettaiyan marks the first film of the actress with the superstar Rajinikanth. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on October 10. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film is said to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages.
The film features a stellar cast, including Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who will share the screen with Rajinikanth for the fourth time. Born into a Malayali family in Tamil Nadu, Warrier first appeared in the television serial Moharavam. The actress marks her film debut in the 1995 film Sakshyam. Later in 1999, her film Kannezhuthi Pottum won a special mention from the jury for the National Film Awards.
